The waters were parted TWICE…

July 14, 2016Christian Livingchrist, christian, Encouragement, fulfilled, God, hope, Inspiration, jesus, love, purpose

Scripture: Exodus 14, Joshua 3

Two great men, with two stories that teach us what God has done for one he can do for another…

Have you ever gone through something in life, knowing someone who has overcome the same and allowed thoughts of envy to set in, lamenting why you have to experience pain and turmoil, wondering, ‘Why can’t I be like them?‘ I have -on multiple occasions, it is an easy and unproductive thought to give way to, but one that is battled nonetheless keeping us from realizing that the same God that parted the waters for Moses is the same God that parted the waters for Joshua which also goes on to tell us the same God that pulled the one you are envious of from the trial they faced, is the same God that lives in you.

Just as there was purpose behind God parting the waters for Moses and Joshua, there is purpose when God pulls people from their struggle. Yes, he saves us out of love and mercy and in response to our plea for help, but he does it also to serve as a testimony to those around to prove that he is God.

Romans 8:11 says:

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

If you are anything like me, you find it is easy to forget this truth. Its much like forgetting the fact that God parted the waters a second time. We look to a situation and forget all together that what happened once also happened again, but God’s word is true and serves as a reminder – the same power lives in you…you just have to believe, cry out, and reach to him…Choose Him.
