How your refusal to wait is withholding your promise.

God has a waiting room, and sometimes the path He has us on requires we spend time purposely sitting in that room. It’s a room that He uses to teach us. A room that to us feels as though we are forgotten, when in reality His desire is for us to allow Him to work his plan of imparting upon us wisdom, patience, and truth. A place He uses to build our faith. A place where we are ushered in order to bring to reality Isaiah 40:31:
‘But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’
We spend varying amounts of time in the waiting room all dependent on the lesson in which He teaches. Take heart though – No matter the duration, the words in Isaiah are coming to pass. God always holds true to His promises. We see that when we read of Abraham, Daniel, Esther, Rahab, and so many others that fill the pages of His precious word. Just as their promises all came to fruition – yours will too. If you choose to wait as they did.
Maybe today you find yourself in a waiting room? Waiting on deliverance, peace, healing, direction – an answer to prayer. Maybe you’re tired of being there, feeling stuck – it’s ok. We have all felt the same. God’s timing is not our timing, and there are things we must learn, and experience in order for His promises to come to us in their fullest. Our refusal to wait stops His work dead in its tracks. It withholds from us the ability to see the goodness of the plan He has designed, because His timing just isn’t there yet. His work is not complete for you to step into it. Your wait is not over. Whatever you wait on in this moment…I encourage you to spend time filling your wait with reading and meditating on His powerful word, absorb every bit of Him that you can. Make up in your mind to wait, and when you do – you WILL mount up on wings like eagles. You WILL run and not grow weary. You WILL walk and not faint. You will step out of that wait and into His promise. Wait. On. Him.
