One table, many views

Sitting in a planning session recently, I was intrigued by the five women that sat gathered around the table with me. Taking a moment to step back and process our time together identified the vast differences that existed in our group ranging from; appearance, size, personality, communication style, background, approach, thought process, etc – yet we all had a common job bringing us together, so there we sat around the same table planning the same training session committed to find a point of unity so that we could carry a message to the same audience.
Has this been an easy process? No, we are six women possessing all of these differences. You better believe there have been points of contention, frustration, disagreement, but out of respect one for one another we have given each other the opportunity to have our voice heard and through that, realized the value that each of us brings to the table.

It reminds me a lot of this highly controversial day. Here we are, one people, living in one nation needing to come to a point of unity. No, we don’t all share the same view, beliefs, support, whatever, but we are all gathered together ‘around the same table’, and it is our job to take the time out of respect and honor one to another to take the time and see the value of each person seated in those chairs coming into obedience of John 13:34;

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

It is when we step into that commandment, that we come together no matter the difference into a point of unity. So today, I challenge you…love…Choose Him
